In this week’s episode of Building Memories, we focus on the Welcome Center. This building is literally rising up this week as construction goes to the next level! We will see this in photos and video in the weekly update show plus get into even more of the details in today’s accompanying blog post.
Construction Progress
The construction of our Welcome Center has been making incredible strides. Just yesterday, the first posts and beams went up. The skeleton of the building is going up so quickly it is almost like watching a child’s toy construction set. It’s exciting to watch this essential structure come to life before our eyes!
Throughout the design process, we’ve gone through numerous iterations of the Welcome Center’s layout and features. However, one constant has been our unwavering focus on guest comfort and convenience. Every decision we’ve made has been with our guests in mind, ensuring that their experience at Standing Pines Resort is as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
This particular piece of concept was AI generated. It is intended to convey a general idea of the future Welcome Center rather than any specific image. It is important to us that the Welcome Center be, well, welcoming! We want the building itself to present guests with an invitation to come in and relax. This is in part why we went with a simple shape for the building.
Some of the key features of our Welcome Center include:
1. Three staging lanes for RVs checking in, making the arrival process efficient and stress-free.
2. Easy restroom access, including a bathroom directly off the main entrance for guests’ convenience after a long road trip.
3. A media center equipped with gaming systems and headphones, providing entertainment for kids while parents take care of registration.
4. Various accessibility features to ensure that all our guests can comfortably navigate the space.
Unique Touches
We’ve worked hard to incorporate unique touches into the Welcome Center that reflect our commitment to the local community and our guests’ experience. Some of these special features include:
1. Unique local artisan products. For example, we have started discussions with a local soap maker about carrying her products in the store. A custom mix, created exclusively for Standing Pines Resort, is a possibility. We will continue to look for and partner with local artists to add touches of unique charm to our camp store.
2. Local honey available for purchase, supporting area beekeepers and offering guests a taste of the region.
3. A well-stocked camp store with essential items and custom merchandise, including art from the illustrator of our Standing Pines Resort books.
4. A snack bar with indoor dining, providing guests with a comfortable space to relax and refuel.
5. Digital displays throughout the Welcome Center, keeping guests informed about resort activities, local attractions, and more.
Convenient Location
The Welcome Center’s location has been carefully chosen to provide guests with easy access to the resort’s main amenities. Just steps away from the building, guests will find:
1. The resort pool, complete with a service window for snacks and drinks.
2. Yard games, mini golf, and a gaga ball pit for hours of family fun.
3. A crafts and classes area, offering a variety of activities for all ages.
Express Check-In and Custom Mural Wall
We are very excited about the future custom mural wall! This will tie into the Forest Friends and create some special moments for guests with young kids. Much more to come on this over the next several weeks!
We’re always looking for ways to enhance our guests’ experience. One relatively new possibility we are evaluating is an express check-in option. This would allow guests who have locked a specific site and completed all check in requirements online to simply pull up and pull into their campsite. We are looking for feedback on this possibility. What do you think? Would it be helpful or would it create problems we are not thinking about yet?
