In this week’s episode of Building Memories, we were thrilled to introduce the Forest Friends Adventure Series and welcome a very special guest, Rebecca Powell, the talented illustrator who has brought these adorable characters to life. “Rascal Takes Responsibility” is the first book in the Forest Friends Adventures series.
The Forest Friends were created for Standing Pines Resort. They will show up in fun and creative ways around the campground for our guests!
The Forest Friends Adventure Series
The Forest Friends Adventure Series features a delightful cast of animal friends who live in the forest surrounding Standing Pines Resort. Readers will fall in love with memorable characters like Rascal Raccoon, Blaze Bobcat, Clover Cardinal, and Blossom Beaver as they share their adventures and challenges. The series will include illustrated storybooks perfect for ages 3-6 and a chapter book with greater detail for ages 7-12. Published by Standing Tall Books, the first books in the series will be available on Amazon and in select local stores in 2024.
“Rascal Takes Responsibility” Available April 2024 on Kindle
We are excited to announce that the first book in the Forest Friends series, “Rascal Takes Responsibility,” is now available on Kindle, with the official print version publication date set for April 2024. In this charming story, readers will enjoy hand-drawn watercolor illustrations and follow Rascal as his pranks go a little too far. Advance readers have been raving about the book, with comments highlighting its appeal to children, parents, grandparents, and even educators.
Meet the Author: Amy Bashor
Amy Bashor, the author of the Forest Friends series, brings a wealth of experience in family-friendly travel and storytelling. Her previous books, published by Theme Park Press, have inspired both Standing Pines Resort and the stories of Rascal and his friends. Amy enjoys hosting the weekly Building Memories show, giving fans an insider’s view of the resort’s development.
Meet the Illustrator: Rebecca Powell
Rebecca Powell, the illustrator of the Forest Friends series, has a unique background as a biochemist turned creative entrepreneur. With her knowledge of marketing and passion for design, Rebecca founded Southern’spirations, where she creates designs that bring joy and whimsy to her clients. “Rascal” is Rebecca’s first book, and she is excited to continue drawing the Forest Friends in their future adventures.
