Earth Day 2025 | Plant Baby Trees at Standing Pines

Plant Baby Trees

Welcome Friends!

The Standing Pines family is excited to welcome you to a fun weekend celebrating Earth Day (early) at the campground!

Our main event this weekend is helping families plant 2 longleaf pine seedlings at their campsites.   But that’s not all!  Check out the surprises we’ve planned for our tree planting families this weekend!

Snack Tray in Welcome Center

Friday, April 11 - 4pm-6pm

Join us for light snacks in the Welcome Center as more families roll in for the weekend!  Meet a new friend, check out the puzzles & games, relax in the media lounge – it’s a great time to make plans for the weekend!

Saturday, April 12 - 10am - 8pm

It’s tree planting day!   If you have not already picked up the event schedule, drop by the Welcome Center for your schedule, your tree planting guide and to sign up for a time slot to plant trees!

Plus, consider attending the Earth Day Celebration at Kalmia Gardens, just 15 minutes from the campground.  Our friends from Black Creek Wildlife Center will be there with some fun animal ambassadors!  It’s also Farmer’s Market Saturday in downtown Hartsville.  Explore local – try something new!

BONUS SURPRISE!  Rebecca Powell, the official artist for Standing Pines and the Forest Friends, will be onsite at 3pm.  Watch an artist at work and chat about our Forest Friends!

Extra Bonus Surprise!  Community Campfire & S’mores Snack Bar!
At 6pm, the Standing Pines team will set up a complimentary s’mores snack bar for tree planting families in the new picnic pavilion just off the Welcome Center.  Bring a chair and hang for a while as we will also offer a community campfire this evening.

Sunday, April 13 - 10am - Noon

Weekend tree planting families can sleep in with no worries!  We are extending check out time to noon.  Relax – you’ve got time!

Swing by the Welcome Center on your way out for some water for the road.

Remember to grab a brochure to help plan your next trip.  There’s just too much to do here to get it all done in one weekend!

We’d love a chance to say farewell and hope to see you again soon at Standing Pines!
