Vacation Home FAQ

Can my friends and family use my Vacation Home at Standing Pines?
Yes. You’re welcome to bring friends and family, up to a total of 6 people at your site. You must be on‑site with your guests during their visit so we can keep the community feel and standards you see in our guest stories.

What comes with my Standing Pines Vacation Home?
Your RV is your “house.” We provide a full‑hookup RV site (water, sewer, electric), utilities, and site maintenance. During each stay you enjoy full access to our amenities: trails, mini golf and other activities, playgrounds, dog parks, bathhouses, laundry, movies under the stars, and seasonal events.

Why choose Standing Pines for a vacation home base?
We’re tucked in the pines just outside Hartsville, SC—close enough for an easy drive, but far enough to feel like a real getaway. Within minutes you’ve got Kalmia Gardens, Byerly Park, Coker University, and downtown festivals.

Enjoy easy access to regional draws like Neptune Island Waterpark, Sandhills National Wildlife Refuge, Darlington Raceway and museum, the Hartsville Museum, and Florence Flamingos baseball, making Standing Pines a convenient hub for simple, fun outings and peaceful time at your own site

Do I own the lot?
No. This is a license to use a specific site for a defined period of time, not a real‑estate purchase. Standing Pines retains ownership and responsibility for the property and infrastructure; you get to enjoy the site and amenities without long‑term maintenance or tax obligations.

What rules apply to Vacation Home guests?
The same community standards we use for all guests apply here: quiet hours, keeping your site “vacation‑ready,” and being a good neighbor. All pets must be current on vaccinations. Our dog parks are off‑leash; in all other public areas pets must be leashed or in a secure travel carrier.

How long can I stay?
Extended stays are booked in 28‑night blocks and approved one term at a time, consistent with our RV Site License Agreement. The key to successful extended stays at Standing Pines is that this is temporary lodging, not residential use. All extended‑stay guests must maintain a separate permanent residential address.

What about nature and safety?
Standing Pines is a natural setting with trees, trails, uneven ground, and native wildlife. That means normal outdoor risks: slip, trip, and fall hazards; insects; snakes; and plants that may irritate skin. We ask families to supervise children, wear appropriate footwear, use flashlights at night, and treat wildlife with respect and caution. Our team is happy to point out safer play areas and trail options based on your family’s needs.

Is this right for our family right now?
Vacation homes here work best for RV‑owning families who already love camping together and can see themselves using their site for weekends, school breaks, and “just because” days.

Extended stays may also be a fit for full time RV’ers looking for a seasonal or extended stay.
