Can I come for the day?
Day passes may be available if space allows – call ahead for details.

Pet Policy:
Leashed, well-behaved pets are welcome! Please clean up after your pet and respect wildlife.

Rain or Shine:
All activities will be held rain or shine. Some programs may be moved under cover in case of bad weather.

About Black Creek Wildlife Center

Black Creek Wildlife Center is a dedicated, all-volunteer nonprofit based in Bishopville, SC, committed to the rehabilitation and care of injured and orphaned wildlife from across the region. Their mission is twofold:

  • Rescue & Rehabilitation: Each year, BCWC provides life-saving medical care, rehabilitation, and-whenever possible-release for hundreds of wild animals in need. For those that cannot return to the wild, the center offers a permanent, loving home.

  • Education & Outreach: BCWC’s passionate team brings their animal ambassadors to schools, events, and community programs throughout South Carolina, inspiring people of all ages to appreciate and protect our native wildlife.

Black Creek Wildlife Center is: 

  • 100% volunteer-run and donor-supported-every dollar goes directly to animal care and education.

  • Home to a variety of ambassador animals, from owls and foxes to opossums and reptiles, each with their own rescue story.

  • Recognized for their quick response, compassionate care, and hands-on educational experiences that connect people with nature.

Standing Pines Campground & RV Resort is Hartsville’s newest family campground, offering over 100 campsites with modern amenities, family activities, 50 acres of growing pine forest, a private lake, and a welcoming community. 

Standing Pines is also a designated release site for rehabilitated wildlife through Black Creek Wildlife Center.  Our lake, forest and commitment to sustainable outdoor hospitality make this partnership a great way to help our wild community!
