🎨 2:30 PM – Artist at Work
Local artist Rebecca Powell, illustrator of the Forest Friends books, will be working on the new portal murals! Drop by to see an artist at work, creating our feature social media wall!
🐕 4:00 PM – Afternoon Dog Park Social
Give your four-legged friends their second play session of the weekend! This is perfect timing before the evening activities begin.
🎯 5:00 PM – Cornhole Tournament
Teams will be randomly assigned for maximum mingling! Whether you’re a cornhole champion or first-timer, this laid-back tournament promises laughs and friendly competition. Winners earn serious bragging rights!
🪅 6:00 PM – Grand Fiesta Potluck Dinner
The main event! A potluck is a CCC tradition and always an event highlight! After dinner, the piñata party begins with opportunities for kids to show off their swing!
🌅 Evening – #StandingPinesSunsets Photo Challenge
Check out #StandingPinesSunsets and join the challenge! Pick your favorite spot and take your best photo, then tag it with the hashtag #StandingPinesSunsets.
7:30 PM – Wildlife Release with Black Creek Wildlife Center
Witness a special moment as Black Creek Wildlife Center releases a rehabilitated animal back into the wild right here at Standing Pines. This is a unique learning experience for all ages-don’t miss it!
🎬 8:00 PM – Movie Under the Stars
As night falls, we’ll set up for our second outdoor movie! Bring blankets, chairs, and snacks to enjoy a delightful film under the Carolina sky. The Welcome Center will serve as our backup location if weather doesn’t cooperate.
🌌 8:00 PM – Community Campfire
Camping is about community. Connect with friends at the signature CCC event: the community campfire! Enjoy more campfire conversations and stargazing. The Standing Pines night sky offers spectacular viewing far from city lights!
🌌 BONUS Time TBD Starlight Conversations A kind member has offered to bring a telescope and share info on the stars! Details coming soon!
It's Not Goodbye | It's "See Ya Soon!"
🐕 9:00 AM – Farewell Fido Frolic
One last chance for the dogs to play together before heading home! Join fellow pet lovers at either of our two dog parks for this final furry gathering of the weekend.
🥐 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM – Grab’n’Go Gift
Stop by the Welcome Center for breakfast pastries and coffee before hitting the road. We’ll share the full list of winners from the weekend’s activities and an invitation to join us to welcome in 2026! That’s right, CCC returns to Standing Pines for another NYE celebration!

We had a wonderful start to a great weekend! A very warm day meant the early focus was on getting RVs set up and AC running!
The fantastic meal – prime rib, spare ribs and multiple sides – produced groans of “I ate too much” and “my belly is too full!”
A little live music as the sun went down lured guests outside to enjoy the lawn games, community fire and movie under the starts until 11pm!

🧘♀️ 8:00 AM – Morning Yoga Stretch
Morning yoga was wonderful! Bird chirping, breeze blowing and a gentle session for beginners! This may be a new team favorite.
Individual Exploration
Enjoy exploring the forest, lake or activities at Standing Pines. Pick up a copy of our nature scavenger hunt for family fun onsite! Adventures seekers may venture further to check out downtown Hartsville. Stay for lunch at one of Hartsville’s delightful eateries.
We have many suggestions for exploring the Pee Dee – check out our PLAY page for many other options, both here at the campground and a short drive away. Check our front desk for brochures and suggestions!
We love making the 15-20 minute drive to the Sandhills State Forest and the Sandhills National Wildlife Refuge. Check our Welcome Center for more info on the 90,000 acres of these public lands mere minutes from Standing Pines – including amazing brochures on the birds, butterflies and flowers of the Sandhills!
Back at Standing Pines for the afternoon, it was time to explore nature.
Saturday afternoon, several brave young guests volunteered to help add minnow to the lake! A surprise kayaking opportunity was the reward for our volunteers.
After a brief rest, the group made for the hills – – or at least the forest – – for a guided nature walk to learn about some of the trees and other plants growing at Standing Pines.
