As Sage was contemplating where to begin her foraging, she heard a familiar voice.

Sage couldn’t help but giggle at her friend’s enthusiasm. “That’s so funny! Squirrels don’t dig for food,” she explained gently. “Nuts are the best! Besides, dirt tastes yucky.”
But Rascal wasn’t deterred. His adventurous spirit shining through, he suggested, “Let’s see what we can find right here! I’ll share.”
Sage hesitated for a moment. This wasn’t her usual way of finding food, but Rascal’s excitement was contagious. “Well…okay!” she agreed. “Wonder what we will find?”

As they began to dig, their paws working together in the soft forest soil, something unexpected happened. Suddenly, both friends exclaimed in unison, “TRUFFLES!”
Rascal’s face lit up with joy. “Sage, you are good luck! Let’s try digging for food again tomorrow.”

And that, friends, is how Rascal Raccoon and Sage Squirrel became such good friends. They both love to eat, and their shared adventure that day opened up a whole new world of foraging fun for both of them.
