The Business Side: Creating a Name & Logo

Starting a new business is indeed a challenge, and our journey to establish a campground has been an exciting one. In another post, I’ll share more about how we came to choose the campground as a business and the Pee Dee region of South Carolina as our ideal location. For now, I want to share some of our experience in choosing a name and logo for Standing Pines.

Finding land for the campground was a challenge. We made three offers for three different pieces of property. All were rejected. We waited a bit to see if the market changed, then looked again. This time we found what we thought was an ideal property. It was rural, close to a college town, close to two interstates, and offered over 80 acres at a price that was just barely in our price range. We took a deep breathe and made the offer. Happily, this offer was accepted! Once we found the perfect land, our attention turned to designing a logo that would capture the essence of our vision.

The name Standing Pines came to us as we were capturing photographs of the landscape during our land search. We noticed two sentinal pine trees near what we envisioned as the main entrance, standing tall and proud. Inspired by their presence, we knew that Standing Pines would be the perfect name for our campground.

With the name in place, we began brainstorming the elements we wanted to incorporate into our logo. We experimented with various designs, exploring different depictions of trees, cabins, RVs, and tents. Once we had a clear vision of the elements we wanted, we decided to seek the expertise of a professional.

Curious about the platform Fiverr, a service connecting artists worldwide with customers seeking specific services, we reached out to numerous potential logo designers. After careful consideration, we chose to work with the talented artist @lewelliotdesignsource. His style resonated with our vision, and his exceptional communication skills sealed the deal.

On February 17, 2022, we placed the order on Fiverr, providing the artist with all the necessary details and sharing the sample logo we had created. Over the course of six iterations, we collaborated with @lewelliotdesignsource to refine and perfect the design. Finally, on February 23, 2022, we achieved the final version of our Standing Pines logo.

The logo represents our deep connection to the landscape and the welcoming environment we aim to create for our guests. It symbolizes the natural beauty, tranquility, and sense of adventure that await visitors at Standing Pines. We are proud of the logo and believe it encapsulates the spirit of our campground.

As we continue to build our business, the logo serves as a visual representation of our commitment to providing an unforgettable camping experience. It’s a reminder of the journey we’ve undertaken and the dreams we’re turning into reality.

We look forward to our guests discovering memories together in a lovely natural environment that the logo represents. We can’t wait to hear from our guests about their adventures at Standing Pines!
